Choreographer Luke Brown presents For You I Long the Longest, a double bill of alluring dance theatre featuring Second Self and Princess, exploring the ever-changing nature of love and romance.

Reflecting on the beauty and brutality of true love, Brown’s theatrical recreation of real life romance is both charming and thought provoking. With intimate storytelling and delicate choreography the evening blurs the lines between fantasy and reality in a genuine and often absurd search for a ‘happy ever after’.

Second Self investigates the human longing to be loved and to be held while Princess, drawing from autobiographical events, is a collection of haunting, beautiful and honest first memories of love.

With For You I Long The Longest, Luke Brown further announces himself as an exciting, thoughtful and courageous new choreographic voice for the UK.  This is original, delicate, nuanced work, which on the surface appears gentle, quiet, almost languorous, but which contains dark secrets buried in its heart.  Images which begin with a light, airy beauty slowly transform before your eyes as the surface of what you see is gradually laid bare, layer by layer.  A haunting metamorphosis, created and performed with grace, elegance and controlled power.
