Meet The Team…
A warm welcome to dance artists and collaborators Ingvild Krogstad, Adam Rutherford, Eileih Muir and Vicki Hargreaves who will be joining Luke later this month to further research his latest work Princess. This research and development period is facilitated and supported by Dance Limerick’s short-term residency program.
Ingvild Krogstad
Ingvild recently graduated with a First Class Honors degree in contemporary dance from London Studio Centre. Prior to her degree, Ingvild worked as a freelance dance artist in Oslo, where she danced in a musical show group, performed with Norwegian artists as well as dance modelling alongside several short dance films.
Other work experience include the UK tour with Intoto Dance Company in 2015, where she performed in works by Henri Oguike and Jose Agudo and being rehearsal assistant at the Norwegian Opera and Ballet’s project “På Tå Hev”. Here she also danced in a piece by Jessica Wright and Paolo Mangiola from Wayne McGregor Random Dance Company. She is currently working on a site specific performance in Oslo, as well as teaching at the Norwegian Ballet Academy. Ingvild values diversity in her work, and always seeks to deepen her understanding of the moving body in space.
Adam Rutherford
Adam Rutherford is an independent award winning creative practitioner. Adam received his BA (Hons) Dance Theatre and Graduate Diploma in Performance (Transitions Dance Company) from the Laban Centre for Movement and Dance (Trinity Laban). He has toured nationally and internationally the works of many high profile choreographers including Henri Oguike, Ben Wright, Luca Silvistrini, Bettina Strickler, Richard Siegal, Matthew Bourne, Tamsin Fitzgerald, Hofesh Schecter, Enrique Cabrera, Wayne Sables and Helen Parlor. Adam has also been a Rehearsal Director and Assistant Choreographer to Tamsin Fitzgerald (2Faced Dace Company), Rosie Kay (Rosie Kay Dance Company) and Gary Clarke.
In 2013 Adam founded Birmingham based Rutherford Dance Company (RDC) and Rutherford Dance Company Youth (RDC Youth) which have both firmly embedded themselves in the dance infrastructure of the West Midlands. Alongside his eclectic performance career he has received commissions from conservatoires, organisations and dance company’s from across the globe and has had his work supported by both Arts Council England and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Eileih Muir
Eileih trained at London Studio Centre and it was here that she first found her interest in contemporary dance. Since graduating she has had the opportunity to work both freelance and within companies.
Eileih spent her first two professional years exploring different aspects of the career including immersive theatre, dance for film and opera, before going on to an apprenticeship with National Dance Company Wales. Most recently she has danced with Richard Alston Dance Company and Joss Arnott Dance. Stepping into both old and new works by Alston and Martin Lawrence for their 2015 season and touring with Dame Evlyn Glennie with 5|o.
Vicki Hargreaves
Vicki Hargreaves is the artistic director and founder of Commotion Dance and the Dance Development Manager at The Point, Eastleigh. Her passion for dance started at a very young age and has since grown into a wide portfolio career in dance. Through her roles at The Point Vicki has successfully project managed, curated and produced a number of high profile events including, Eastleigh Unwrapped Festival, supporting the opening of the Creation Space, developing Elevate Gifted and Talented Summer School, and devised and delivered the New Dimensions in Dance county wide initiative.
Alongside her choreography with Commotion Vicki has choreographed for nationally known companies Theatre Hullabaloo, The Berry Theatre and Oily Cart Theatre. She has extensive knowledge of teaching dance in both contemporary and creative dance styles with a specialism in working with early years and children and young people.
