Drawing Bodies in Motion welcomes experienced artists, art students, dance artists or those with a desire to draw and move to participate in an intimate day of drawing with Luke Brown Dance – a space for artists and dancers to share their natural instincts in moments of discovery. Responding to professional dance artists, you will find solutions to capture the essence of fluidity of motion from abstract mark making too watercolour and ink. It is a place for artists to be unbound in, to experiment with their individual strategies for documenting live movement and to share their practice with fellow artists. The intimate setting provides an exchange of disciplines, with both artists and dancers contributing to the collaborative atmosphere, finding a space for art and dance to encounter one another. Through a series of guided sessions, immerse yourself in the movement, music and marks to discover what the essence of what motion really is. Artists are encouraged to explore their disciplines courageously to find ways to capture the transient imagery of a dancing body. A place for artists to be unbound in, these days give the dancer and the artist the freedom to explore the spirit of the body in motion.
what’s remarkable is that each drawing is a voyage of discovery and you are always on the edge of accident
Such a privilege to experience the energy, beauty & fluidity of the dancers and to move with them in brush strokes
Inventive, playful and robust work. A beautiful atmosphere and creative environment
